John Ball Cycle Training |

John Ball Primary school is in Lewisham, South East London. For the last 3 years the school has run a
very successful Cycle Training Programme, involving parents, pupils and
staff. The cycle training project has won
a number of awards for its innovation and excellence in child cycle training to
the National Standard and beyond.
Key Features of the Project
All Year 2 pupils receive cycle skills
training as part of the school curriculum
Year 4 pupils receive on-road cycle
training, subject to parental consent
Year 6 pupils are offered advanced cycle
training as an extra-curricula activity
Parents and staff can receive training with
their child
Pupils without their own bikes are loaned a
pool bike
Pupils, parents and staff are encouraged to
take part in regular community cycle rides
Instructors from local community groups and
Police Community Support Officers regularly come into school
